12th Scale Miniature – Crumpled leather shoulder bag

Made from 3D printed resin, this 12th scale crumpled leather shoulder bag lets you show off your painting skills by turning it into something that looks like canvas or leather—an impressive little trick of the eye. Designed to sit neatly on a floor or table, the strap falls naturally down the back and folds onto the surface, adding a realistic touch to your miniature scene. Although it won’t open, the little buckle and strapping loops can be picked out in a metallic paint providing a realism. 
 
Painting tips
For a smooth finish, begin with a suitable primer before applying paint. Alcohol-based paints can create a lovely, fluid finish, while acrylics offer good coverage and a wide choice of colours. 
To create the leathery texture I really need to add a video but in the meantime may I suggest using a brown paint. Wash over a darker shade and wipe away leaving it in the recesses. Then add a dry brush of highlights. I like to use waxes and for this bag I added an additional black, white and brown wax wiping off where I needed and then dusting the whole thing is Pumice powder.

3D printed in high-grade resin, carefully selected for its long-lasting durability. While some 3D printing resins may deteriorate over time, I use premium-quality resin chosen for its longevity, so you can enjoy your miniature for years to come.
